Incredibly easy-to-assemble knock-down design. Easily breaks down into a small box for transportation and storage. Lift off playtop can be removed from the top of the cage and placed on a stand or table, providing a separate play area away from the cage.

Playpen top includes a manzanita perch and two food-cup holders. Two toy hooks lock onto the playpen to keep your bird entertained while sitting on top of the cage. Because birds are not helicopters–they need much more width than they to height, the Mediana Bird Cage is wider than the industry standard. Locking system on front doors and food doors is easy for humans, but very difficult for birds! Three interior food bowls are accessible by solid swing open doors so you never have to reach inside the cage. Optional slide-out grate will not allow your bird to escape when the grate is not in place.

Natural wood perches–no boring dowels! Perches are made of yellow-cow wood, lighter yet harder than manzanita.

Specially designed skirt–no clips or bolts. Shelf for handy, organized storage of all your bird's accessories and necessities. Cups, perches, skirt, removable grate, and touch-up paint included.

Offered in a variety of finishes. Sapphire blue, emerald green, and ruby are smooth, glossy, translucent finishes. Platinum and pearl white are textured finishes. Powder coated finishes are zinc and lead free. Stainless steel finish is medical grade.

Secondly, the size was perfect for Lucy. I was originally concerned that it might be too small, but the amount of room for her to "stretch her wings" and hang her various toys is phenomenal. The design of this cage was definitely done by folks who know what bird owners need for their feathered family. Nothing was left out. The 3 swing out doors to make the dishes accessible is very handy if you have a pet sitter come who cannot handle your parrot.
The playtop is lots of fun for Lucy with 2 additional feeding dishes and lots of room to play and hang toys. I would also like to add that the color is very nice and the shiny finish really looks great.
