Punto y Raya JUNIOR is an international festival dedicated to abstract art, animation, and new media created by children under 13 years old from around the world. As the younger sibling of the Punto y Raya Festival— a benchmark event for abstract art in motion— it continues to grow its community and gain recognition as a pioneering platform for children’s artistic experimentation.

Now in its seventh edition, PyR Junior invites young artists to create abstract (non-representational) works that explore the beauty and creative possibilities of form, color, motion, and sound in their purest states. No representation— just dots and lines! The festival’s mission is to revive the spirit of Cinéma Pur and Absolute Film, as articulated by the European avant-garde in the 1920s, while consolidating this unique art form at the intersection of fine arts and media.

If you’re an educator or parent and would like your children to participate, we encourage you to explore our PyRTV archive, which features over 200 films made by children, along with various educational materials that might inspire creative activities using diverse techniques.
